If you’re feeling overwhelmed and looking for ways to stay sane, incorporating music and good food into your daily routine can be a powerful strategy. Not only can music help reduce stress and improve your mood, but eating healthy and delicious food can provide nourishment and comfort to your body and mind.
To start, make a playlist of your favorite songs or create a new one filled with upbeat and calming tunes that resonate with you. Listening to music while cooking or enjoying a meal can create a more relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. Additionally, research has shown that certain types of music can have a positive impact on cognitive function and memory, so why not make your mealtime a brain-boosting experience?
Next, try experimenting with new recipes that incorporate fresh and nutrient-rich ingredients. Cooking can be a creative and therapeutic activity that allows you to focus on the present moment and forget about the stresses of the day. Plus, when you eat well, you feel better, and that can positively impact your mental health.
Consider incorporating more fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains into your meals, and experiment with different spices and herbs to add flavor and variety. And don’t forget to take the time to savor and enjoy your meals! Mindful eating can help you feel more satisfied and less likely to overeat or turn to unhealthy foods as a coping mechanism.
Try to incorporate music and good food into your daily routine. It’s a simple and yet effective way to stay sane and improve your overall well-being.
Let’s turn up the tunes, get in the kitchen, and nourish our body and mind with delicious and nutritious meals!

My top 3 foods for sanity:
  1. Fatty Fish: Fatty fish like salmon, tuna, and sardines are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which have been linked to a reduced risk of depression and anxiety.
  2. Leafy Greens: Leafy greens like spinach and kale are packed with nutrients, including folate, which has been shown to improve mood and reduce symptoms of depression.
  3. Dark Chocolate: Dark chocolate contains antioxidants and flavonoids that can help reduce inflammation and improve blood flow to the brain, potentially leading to improved mood and cognitive function.
Remember that a balanced and varied diet that includes a variety of nutrient-rich foods is key to overall health and well-being.
Here is my top 3 of songs that keep me sane when I need a boost:
  1. Jon Hopkins – Light Through The Veins: This classical piano electronic piece is known for its calming and soothing qualities, it improve mood.
  2. Cindy Lauper – Girls Just Want To Have Fun: This one has a positive message of unconditional love, its uplifting melody and lyrics make it a popular choice for boosting my mood and reducing stress.
  3. Daft Punk – One More Time: Didi you know that this was the song that inspired me to start DJing. This one transports positive energy, it lifts me up and makes me want to do the good things again.
Like this one when I visited Kenya.
Every now and then I create dj mixes that lift my spirit and mood.  Listen to this uplifting mix which traveled the world multiple times:
