EDC LAS VEGAS – 25th ANNIVERSARY
After rescheduling the event, Electric Daisy Carnival took place at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway celebrating its 25 years history of life, art, and music under the electric sky. From the stages and the sound to the pyrotechnics and the performers there were many unique elements that went into bringing this world to life. Artists and fans from all over the world came here to wander, explore, interact, and connect. Imagination and positive energy are the currency of this place.
Music and people have always played a big and meaningful role in my life. My label 925 Music is focused on getting artists, their stories with music heard globally. When I received an email to be the anchor host of the 25th anniversary of Electric Daisy Carnival I felt honored to join the family. I cancelled my vacation, took on the challenge of hosting this event, and made the long journey to Las Vegas. I am so thankful for the opportunity to have hosted this incredible event and I look forward to many more adventures to come.
My first Electric Daisy Carnival experience, interviewing international top talent like Tiesto, Kaskade, Dr. Shaquille O’Neil Ed.D. aka DJ Diesel, Rezz, KSHMR, 3lau, Benni Benassi and many other inspiring artists at the EDC artist lounge from a replica bedroom of Pasquale’s room in the 90’s.
I selected some moments and impressions of working with a great team under the electric sky at the Las Vegas Speed Motorway for you here:
Tiesto (NL): Thijs and I go back a number of years (well before he became an international superstar DJ). We have played together at venues like the one for Heineken in Tenerife, the white party in Bogota, Colombia and many others. This year’s performance was the 10th time for Tiesto to celebrate with the Electric Daisy Carnival and because of his residencies in at venues in Las Vegas, he was at home performing here. During our chat, we covered many things in common about what excites us in life and what Tiesto likes to do the most next to music – firing up the BBQ with his family.

Dr. Shaquille O’Neil Ed.D. aka DJ Diesel (USA):
I have to say that I meet many people and Dr. Shaquille O’Neil stood out from the crowd. Making me look like a child, this very tall, funny and humble person who visited Fulda, a small city in the east part of Germany (Thueringen) , close to where I’m from, impressed me with his achievement in his profession. The good traditional German food like Wiener Schnitzel and Currywurst made have left taste for more.
Rezz (CAD):
A young, energetic and inspiring woman Ukranian born, Canadian Dj and record producer from Niagara Falls, Ontario who I’ve been following for a long time- she blew me away with talent. On her way to Las vegas, she opened her laptop on the plane and wrote a song which she performed during her EDC set at the…. together with many upcoming ID songs. Keep an eye on this young lady to rock your world.
Benni Benassi (IT): One of the sweetest pioneers in the industry. Some know him from his song ‘Satisfaction’ with ladies demonstrate the operation and function of heavy-duty tools and machinery, such as the battery drill, belt sander, and angle grinder.
Lil Nas X (USA): His real name Montero Lamar Hill, the American rapper, singer, and songwriter is one of a kind and a mastermind of music marketing.
Paul Oakenfold (UK):
Its never a dull moment when Paul is around and shows how to dance.
When you have never attended a EDC event, than this is what you need to know on the stages, music, arts and people at EDC.
THE STAGES: The multiple stages at EDC, each area contained a distinct union of technology and nature, where elements mix to ignite the senses and inspire the imagination.
THE MUSIC: Music from international top artists, where we groove to the same universal bet and, together, create beautiful experiences that will never be forgotten.
THE RIDES: What’s a carnival without rides? EDC’s landscape is an oversize playground with all your favorite full-size thrills. From relaxing to exhilarating, you’ll enjoy EDC from a whole new perspective!
THE ART: Enter a world of three-dimensional superstructures, colorful, glow-in-the-dark environments, and all manner of LED-infused flora and fauna. A vital part of the experience, the interactive art installations scattered throughout EDC are bridges we construct between nature and technology, there to inspire all who come in contact with them.
THE PERFORMERS: Meet the bands of Funkdafied Freaks—the dancers, stilters, aerialists, circus performers, and other whimsical characters of EDC! Decked out in over-the-top costumes crafted specially for Insomniac, this motley crew will enchant you, astound you, and play with you all night long for a memory to last.
YOU: We are kindred spirits bound by deep passion—not only for the music we love, but for the community that surrounds it. That community is why we are here. You are the heart of it all. Because YOU are special.

What an incredible three days under the electric sky at the Motor Speedway in Las Vegas.
A complete new adventure from another side than I usually perform. Hosting, interviewing and chatting with worlds finest artists and legends in a replica bedroom with the best view of EDC – a memory that will last forever.
